PRESIDENTS' BOWL
BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT


The Presidents’ Bowl Basketball Tournament will be held November 20-21 at Lincoln, Roosevelt and Washington High Schools. This tournament is for Boys and Girls in Grades 4-9. Tournament brackets are determined based upon the number of entries in each division.

Minimum three game guarantee. Fee: $125.

How to Register:
Complete the Registration Form with pertinent information about your team. Be sure to sign the coach’s signature line.

Make check payable to: Presidents’ Bowl Basketball Tournament. Registration deadline is November 6, 2009 – NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN AFTER THIS DATE.

Tournament Rules:
The SDHSAA rules governing the game of basketball will be followed with these additions or exceptions:
  • No protests will be allowed. All referee decisions are final.
  • Game Clocks
    • 4th & 5th Grade: Games are 18 minute halves with a continuous running clock. Clock will stop only in the last two minutes of the game.
    • 6th through 9th Grade: Games are 14 minute halves with clock stopping on all whistles.
  • Full court press
    • 4th Grade: No press allowed.
    • 5th through 9th Grade: Allowed up to a 15 point lead. After 15 point lead, no press allowed.
  • Each team is allowed two time outs per game. An additional time out will be awarded if overtime occurs. Timeouts are one minute.
  • 3 minute break at half time.
  • Free throws taken for all shooting fouls and/or after the team has reached the seventh team foul. The double bonus will be in effect when the team situation reaches ten fouls.
  • All overtimes will begin with a jump ball.
  • First overtime is one minute. Second overtime is sudden death.
  • Technical fouls are scored 2 points and the ball out of bounds.
  • All teams must have basketball uniforms with properly numbered jerseys. Teams need to supply their own practice balls.
  • Intermediate size balls (size 6 – 28.5) will be used for all divisions except boys 9th grade (size 7 – 29.5)
  • Any player or coach assessed two technical fouls will be ejected from the game and gym.
  • Unsportsmanlike behavior from coaches, players or fans will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the game/premises.
  • Games will begin Friday at 6 PM. In order to stay on a time schedule, pre-game warm-ups and half-time may be shortened.
  • Awards:
    • 4th & 5th Grade: 1st and 2nd place
    • 6th through 9th Grade: 1st place only
